PRE-DEGREE PROGRAMME 2026/2027 – OBAFEMI AWOLOWO UNIVERSITY (OAU), ILE-IFE
The Centre for Distance Learning (OAUCDL), Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, officially invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the Pre-Degree Programme for the 2026/2027 Academic Session.
This intensive programme is designed to prepare candidates for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and provide a foundational bridge into the various degree programmes offered by the University.
I. ELIGIBILITY AND ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS
To be considered for admission, candidates must meet the following minimum criteria:
- Credit Requirements: A minimum of 5 Credits in relevant subjects at a maximum of two sittings (WAEC/NECO/GCE/NABTEB).
- Compulsory Subjects:
* English Language: Mandatory for ALL courses.
* Mathematics: Mandatory for Science-based and Social Science-based courses.
* Literature-in-English: Mandatory for Law applicants.
II. PROGRAMME DURATION AND STRUCTURE
The OAU Pre-Degree programme is a rigorous academic exercise designed to be completed within a specific timeframe:
- Duration: Two (2) contact periods spanning a total of nine (9) calendar months.
- UTME Requirement: All enrolled candidates are required to register for the 2027 UTME during the course of the programme to facilitate their transition into full degree studies.

- Digital Readiness: The entrance examination is Computer-Based (CBT). Applicants are strongly advised to familiarize themselves with basic computer operations.

- Timeline: Forms must be filled and submitted immediately or within 2 weeks of accessing the portal.
- Exam Centres: The entrance exam will be conducted at the Ile-Ife Centre and a designated centre in Ikeja, Lagos State.
