11TH ORIENTATION PROGRAMME – FEDERAL UNIVERSITY BIRNIN KEBBI (FUBK)

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. M.Z. Umar, on behalf of the University Management, cordially invites the entire University Community and members of the general public to the 11th Orientation Programme for the 2025/2026 Academic Session.

This essential program serves as the formal welcome and foundational introduction for all newly admitted students, providing them with the necessary tools, regulations, and insights to navigate their academic journey at FUBK successfully.

I. EVENT SCHEDULE AND LOGISTICS

To ensure a structured and informative session, all participants are expected to adhere strictly to the following schedule:

• Date: Friday, 10th April 2026
• Time: 10:00 AM Prompt
• Venue: SLH 2 (Main Campus), Federal University Birnin Kebbi

II. MANDATORY ATTENDANCE FOR NEW STUDENTS

The Orientation Programme is a vital component of the university’s integration process. Consequently, the following directives apply:

1. Attendance Status: Attendance is STRICTLY MANDATORY for all fresh students across all faculties and departments.
   1. Arrival Protocol: All newly admitted students must be arrived and seated within SLH 2 no later than 09:30 AM. Punctuality is required to ensure the orderly commencement of the formal briefings.
   2. Verification: Attendance registers may be taken during the session to validate student participation for official records.

III. PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES AND HIGHLIGHTS

The orientation will feature presentations from key university officials covering essential topics, including:

• Academic Regulations: Understanding the grading system, course registration, and examination requirements.
• Security and Campus Safety: Briefings from the University Security Unit on maintaining a safe learning environment.
• Student Welfare: Information on health services, hostel management, and student counseling.
• University Traditions: An introduction to the core values and mission of Federal University Birnin Kebbi.
