Ritman University, a premier private institution in Akwa Ibom State, has officially scheduled its 11th Matriculation Ceremony for Saturday, February 21, 2026. This formal induction marks the official transition of newly admitted students into the university’s academic community, where they will take the matriculation oath to uphold the institution's values of "Building Knowledge for Development."

The ceremony will be presided over by the 2nd substantive Vice-Chancellor, Professor Akan B. Williams, a distinguished Professor of Analytical and Environmental Chemistry who assumed office in late 2025.

Event Details & Logistics
The university has organized the event to accommodate students, parents, and invited dignitaries in the state-of-the-art auditorium.

Important Information for Matriculants
Matriculation is more than a ceremony; it is a legal requirement for studentship. To ensure a seamless induction, students should adhere to the following:

Academic Gowns: Matriculating students are expected to have completed their registration and collected their academic gowns from their respective faculty offices.

Seating: All students and guests are advised to be seated by 9:30 a.m. to allow for the academic procession of the Vice-Chancellor and members of the Senate.

Matriculation Oath: The highlight of the event will be the administration of the oath by the Registrar, Deaconess Faith Emmanuel. Ensure you have your signed oath form ready for submission if required by your department.

Since taking the helm, Professor Akan B. Williams has emphasized a "New Era" for Ritman University, focusing on entrepreneurial development and digital innovation. This matriculation comes shortly after the university’s valedictory ceremony for its pioneer Vice-Chancellor, signifying a period of both transition and growth.

The university management encourages parents and guardians to use this opportunity to engage with faculty members and explore the campus facilities, which support over 40 departments across six faculties, including the newly expanding Faculty of Allied Health Sciences and Faculty of Computing.

Safety and Orderliness
Security personnel and the University Marshal will be on-site to coordinate parking and guest movements. Visitors are urged to cooperate with the traffic wardens at the 104B Ikot Ekpene–Umuahia Road entrance to maintain order.
