SECOND SEMESTER 2024/2025 & 2025/2026 SESSIONS – UNIVERSITY OF UYO
The Management of the University of Uyo (UNIUYO), through the Office of the Registrar, hereby announces the official resumption of academic activities for the second semester. This notice applies to all undergraduate students (Years 1–5) and postgraduate students.
Following the successful conclusion of first semester examinations on April 2, 2026, and the subsequent two-week break, the university is set to commence full academic operations as approved by the Senate.
I. COMMENCEMENT OF ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES
Academic activities for the second semester will officially begin on Monday, April 20, 2026. Students are expected to return to their respective campuses and departments to begin registration and lectures immediately.
II. REGISTRATION TIMELINE AND PENALTIES
To ensure a smooth administrative process, students are advised to adhere to the following registration windows:
- Registration Without Penalty: Monday, April 20 – Friday, May 8, 2026 (3 Weeks).
- Registration With Penalty: Monday, May 11 – Friday, May 22, 2026 (2 Weeks).
Students who fail to complete their registration within the initial three-week window will be required to pay a late registration fee as prescribed by the university.
III. SECOND SEMESTER LECTURE AND EXAMINATION SCHEDULE
The academic calendar has been structured to ensure the timely completion of the session:
- Lecture Period: Monday, April 20 – Friday, July 10, 2026 (12 Weeks).
- Students’ Union Week: Monday, July 13 – Friday, July 17, 2026.
- Revision Exercise: Monday, July 20 – Friday, July 24, 2026.
- Second Semester Examinations: Monday, July 27 – Friday, August 21, 2026 (4 Weeks).
IV. VACATION AND UPCOMING SESSION
- Long Vacation: Monday, August 24 – Friday, October 2, 2026.
- New Session Commencement: The first semester of the 2025/2026 & 2026/2027 sessions is scheduled to begin on Monday, October 5, 2026.
V. ADMINISTRATIVE ADVISORY
All students and staff members of the university community are urged to take note of these dates. The university emphasizes the importance of punctuality for lectures and compliance with registration deadlines to avoid academic disruptions.
