SULE LAMIDO UNIVERSITY (SLU), KAFIN HAUSA RELEASES POSTGRADUATE ADMISSIONS FOR 2026/2027 SESSION

The School of Postgraduate Studies, *Sule Lamido University (SLU), Kafin Hausa*, officially invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for admission into its various Postgraduate Programmes for the 2026/2027 Academic Session.

I. AVAILABLE PROGRAMMES

The following programmes are available at the PGD, Master's, and PhD levels:

• Faculty of Computing and Information Technology
• Department of Computer Science: PGD, M.Sc., and PhD in Computer Science.
• Faculty of Education
• Department of Education: PGDE, M.Ed., and PhD in Education.
• Faculty of Humanities
• Department of Islamic Studies: PGD, M.A., and PhD in Islamic Studies.
• Department of Arabic: PGD, M.A., and PhD in Arabic.
• Department of English and Literary Studies: PGD, M.A., and PhD in English.
• Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences
• Department of Biological Sciences: PGDB, M.Sc., and PhD in Biology.
• Department of Chemistry: PGD, M.Sc., and PhD in Chemistry.
• Department of Physics: PGDP, M.Sc., and PhD in Physics.
• Department of Mathematics: PGD, M.Sc., and PhD in Mathematics.

II. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

A. General Requirements

All candidates must possess *five (5) O' Level credits* in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.

*B. Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)*

• A First Degree (at least 3rd Class) or a Higher National Diploma (HND) with at least Lower Credit.
• Relevant post-qualification experience as prescribed.
• Note: OND plus professional qualifications or HD are not equivalent to HND.

C. Master’s Degree Programmes

Candidates must satisfy one of the following:

• A First Degree with a minimum of *Second Class (Lower Division)* and a CGPA not below 2.75/5.00.
• A First Degree (Second Class Lower) with a CGPA of 2.40 – 2.74 PLUS a PGD with a minimum CGPA of *3.00 (Merit)*.
• An HND with Upper Credit PLUS a PGD with a minimum CGPA of 3.50/5.00.

D. PhD Degree Programmes

• Must possess an Academic Master’s Degree from SLU or any recognized University.
• Must have a minimum CGPA of 3.50/5.00 in the Master’s programme.
