BUK RELEASES FUNDS FOR DEPARTMENTAL BEST STUDENTS PRIZES FOR 2022/2023 AND 2023/2024 SESSIONS

The Management of *Bayero University, Kano (BUK)* has formally acknowledged the concerns regarding the delay in the payment of Departmental Best Students Prizes for the past two (2) consecutive academic sessions. In a decisive move to reward academic excellence, the University has taken immediate action to resolve the backlog.

The University is pleased to announce that funds for the 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 academic sessions have been officially released and transferred to the *Heads of Departments (HODs)* across all faculties.

I. DISBURSEMENT PROTOCOL

To ensure a more efficient and timely process, the prizes will now be managed and disbursed internally at the departmental level. The following guidelines have been established:

  • HOD Responsibility: All Heads of Departments are mandated to oversee the prompt and transparent disbursement of these funds to every deserving student.
  • Student Action: Award-winning students from the affected sessions are urged to liaise directly with their respective HODs to initiate the immediate collection of their prize funds.
  • Sustainability: To prevent future delays, departments are now expected to claim subsequent prize funds from the University as soon as they become due.
