SULE LAMIDO UNIVERSITY (SLUK) ACHIEVES 100% ACCREDITATION STATUS

The Management of Sule Lamido University (SLUK), Kafin Hausa, is proud to announce that the National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted full accreditation to six additional undergraduate programmes. This achievement is a significant milestone, as it brings the university to a record 100% full accreditation status for all 36 academic programmes currently offered.

This approval was formally communicated via a letter (Ref: NUC/ES/412/VOL.14/323) dated 4th April 2026, following a rigorous assessment exercise conducted between October and November 2025.

I. NEWLY ACCREDITED PROGRAMMES (2026)

The following programmes have been granted the five-year full accreditation status, signifying that they meet or exceed the Minimum Academic Standards (MAS) set by the NUC:

Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resource Management (FANRM)

  • B. Agriculture, with specializations in:
    * Crop Science
    * Soil and Land Management
    * Animal Science
    * Agricultural Economics and Extension

Faculty of Computing and Information Technology (FCIT)

  • B.Sc. Cyber Security
  • B.Sc. Information Technology
  • B.Sc. Software Engineering

Faculty of Education

  • B.A. (Ed.) History

Faculty of Social and Management Sciences (FSMS)

  • B.Sc. Political Science

II. LEADERSHIP REFLECTIONS ON ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE

The University leadership has hailed this development as a testament to the institution’s growth and adherence to the Education Act CAP E3, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004.

  • Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Muhammad Ibrahim Yakasai: Described the milestone as a clear indication that the University is aggressively pursuing its mission and vision by ensuring quality education that competes on a national scale.
