The Management of The Federal Polytechnic, Mubi, through the Office of the Registrar, has formally announced the schedule for the upcoming Easter holidays. This directive serves to inform all members of the polytechnic community—including staff and students across all campuses—of the approved work-free days in alignment with Federal Government declarations and internal institutional policy.
RECOGNIZED PUBLIC HOLIDAYS AND EXTENDED BREAK
In accordance with the circular signed by Medan A. Ndodi, the following dates have been ratified for the holiday period:
- National Public Holidays: Friday, 3rd April (Good Friday) and Monday, 6th April (Easter Monday), 2026.
- Institutional Work-Free Day: Tuesday, 7th April, 2026.
> Note: In line with established tradition, the Rector has graciously approved Tuesday as an additional work-free day for the polytechnic community.
EXEMPTIONS AND ESSENTIAL SERVICES
While the break applies to the general student body and administrative staff, certain categories of personnel are excluded from this directive to ensure campus safety and the continuity of critical infrastructure:
- Special Duties: Staff assigned to Security, Medical Services, Water Works, and Electricity are expected to remain at their duty posts as scheduled.
- Emergency Coverage: Essential departments will maintain a skeletal presence to handle any urgent institutional needs during the five-day recess.
RESUMPTION OF ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES
To ensure the academic calendar remains on track, all staff and students are expected to return promptly following the break:
- Official Resumption Date: Wednesday, 8th April, 2026.
- Academic Continuity: Normal lectures, laboratory practicals, and administrative services will commence in full on the morning of Wednesday.

Students residing in the hostels are advised to ensure all electrical appliances are switched off and their rooms are properly secured before departing for the holiday.
