TWO-DAY ORIENTATION PROGRAMME FOR NEWLY ADMITTED STUDENTS

The Vice Chancellor of Taraba State University (TSU), on behalf of the University Senate and Management, cordially invites all newly admitted students to the 11th Orientation Programme for the 2025/2026 Academic Session.

This essential two-day event is designed to formally welcome our new scholars and provide them with the foundational knowledge, academic guidelines, and ethical standards required to navigate university life successfully.

I. EVENT SCHEDULE AND LOGISTICS

To ensure a comprehensive induction, the programme will be held over two consecutive days. Attendance is vital for all fresh students.

  • Date: Monday, 13th April & Tuesday, 14th April 2026
  • Time: 10:00 AM Prompt (Daily)
  • Venue: Amb A.D Idris Waziri Hall, Taraba State University

II. MANDATORY PARTICIPATION

The orientation exercise is a compulsory component of the university's integration process. Fresh students should take note of the following:

  1. Punctuality: All students are expected to be arrived and seated at the venue by 09:30 AM to ensure an orderly commencement of proceedings.
    1. Verification: Attendance may be recorded during the sessions. Participation is often a prerequisite for finalizing administrative clearances and departmental registrations.
    2. Information Kits: Orientation materials and student handbooks may be distributed during these sessions to help guide your academic journey.

III. PROGRAMME HIGHLIGHTS

The sessions will feature briefings from various university units, including:

  • Academic Affairs: Understanding the credit system, examination regulations, and GPA calculations.
  • Student Affairs: Introduction to campus life, student associations, and counseling services.
  • Security and Discipline: Awareness regarding campus safety, code of conduct, and the university’s zero-tolerance policy for social vices.
