The management of the University of Uyo (UNIUYO) has announced the rescheduling of selected examinations for the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 first semester academic sessions. This decision was made in response to the Federal Government’s declaration of public holidays in observance of the Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

According to an internal memorandum dated March 18, 2026, and signed by the Ag. Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Dianabasi Eduwem, the adjustment affects examinations earlier scheduled for Thursday, March 19, 2026, and Friday, March 20, 2026.

Reason for the Rescheduling

The rescheduling became necessary following the Federal Government’s declaration of Thursday, March 19 and Friday, March 20, 2026 as public holidays to mark the Eid-el-Fitr (Sallah) festivity.

In line with this, the University management deemed it appropriate to adjust the examination timetable to allow students and staff to fully observe the public holidays without academic disruption.

Revised Examination Schedule

According to the memorandum, all affected examinations have been rescheduled as follows:

CBT Examinations:

  • Thursday, April 2, 2026
  • Friday, April 3, 2026

Non-CBT Examinations:

  • Monday, March 30, 2026
  • Tuesday, March 31, 2026

Students are advised to take careful note of these new dates and prepare adequately for their examinations.

Important Notice to Students and Staff

The University management has urged all students and staff to comply with the revised schedule and make the necessary adjustments to their academic plans.

Students are particularly encouraged to stay updated through official communication channels and ensure they do not miss any examination due to misinformation.

Appreciation from the University Management

The institution also expressed its appreciation for the cooperation and understanding of the University community during this adjustment period. The management acknowledged the importance of collective support in ensuring a smooth and organized academic process.
