DELSU Postpones Examinations Over Eid-el-Fitr Break
The University Community is hereby informed that, following the declaration of public holidays by the Federal Government in observance of the Eid-el-Fitr (Id el-Fitr) Muslim Festivity, examinations earlier scheduled for Thursday, 19th and Friday, 20th March, 2026 have been postponed.
This postponement has received the approval of the Vice-Chancellor, confirming the University’s alignment with the national holiday schedule and respect for the religious observance.
Rescheduling of Affected Examinations
Accordingly, all affected examinations are to be rescheduled and conducted within one or two (2) days after the last examination of the respective Departments/Programmes.
This adjustment is aimed at ensuring that academic activities continue smoothly without significantly disrupting the overall examination timetable. Students are therefore advised to stay informed and prepare accordingly for the revised dates.
Directive to Faculties and Departments
Deans of Faculties and Heads of Departments are hereby directed to ensure strict compliance with this directive. All Faculties and Departments must take immediate steps to reorganize their examination schedules in line with the new arrangement.
Revised examination timetables should be promptly communicated to students to avoid confusion or misinformation. In addition, all updated schedules must be submitted to the Directorate of Examinations and Special Duties for proper coordination and record-keeping.

Please note that compliance with this directive is mandatory, and any deviation will be viewed seriously. The University Management expects all concerned units to adhere strictly to the instructions to ensure orderliness and fairness in the conduct of examinations.
