UNIVERSITY OF ABUJA REVISES HOSTEL ALLOCATION METHOD FOR 2026/2027 SESSION

The University of Abuja has announced a revision to its previously approved hostel allocation method for the 2026/2027 academic session.

According to the university’s notice, the complete manual hostel allocation method, which was earlier approved by management to curb hostel racketeering, has been reviewed due to prevailing circumstances.

The university has now adopted a hybrid hostel allocation method, combining manual and electronic booking processes for the session.

NEW HOSTEL BOOKING PROCEDURE

Under the revised arrangement, all students interested in securing hostel accommodation are expected to book through the university’s online portal.

The university has emphasised that students should not visit the Office of the Dean, Students Affairs Division, to seek hostel allocation without completing the online booking process.

Students who successfully book hostel accommodation online are required to print their booking confirmation and present the printout at the Office of the Dean, Students Affairs Division, for bed-space allocation.

STUDENTS EXCLUDED FROM HOSTEL ACCOMMODATION

The university management has also reiterated that students in their penultimate years, including students undertaking Industrial Training (IT), are not eligible for hostel accommodation for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The exclusion remains part of the previously approved arrangements and applies despite the revision of the hostel allocation method.

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO STUDENTS

All interested students are advised to take note of the following instructions:

1. Book hostel accommodation through the university’s online portal.
   1. Do not visit the Office of the Dean, Students Affairs Division, to request allocation without first completing the online booking process.
   2. Print the confirmation of a successful booking.
   3. Present the printout at the Office of the Dean, Students Affairs Division, for bed-space allocation.
   4. Stay alert for further announcements regarding the booking and allocation process.

The university has urged students and staff to cooperate with the revised arrangement and await further information on the implementation of the hybrid system.
