University of Lagos (UNILAG) Centre for General Studies: GST Continuous Assessment Schedule 2025/2026
The Centre for General Studies (CGS) at the University of Lagos has officially released the timetable for the First Semester Continuous Assessment (CA) for all General Studies (GST) courses. This assessment is a critical component of the 2025/2026 academic session and is mandatory for students across all levels, from 100 to 500 level. In a bid to ensure flexibility and accommodate the large student population, the university has maintained an online format for these tests. The examinations are scheduled to take place over five days, commencing on Monday, February 23, and concluding on Friday, February 27, 2026. Students can access the testing platform daily between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. via the dedicated portal at gstonline.unilag.edu.ng.
The schedule is strictly organized by faculty to manage server traffic and ensure a stable testing environment for all participants. On the opening day, Monday, February 23, students from the Faculties of Education and Life Sciences, as well as those in the School of Physical and Health Education (SPESSCE), will take their assessments for courses including GST102, GST212, GST105, GST111, GST201, and GST307. This will be followed on Tuesday, February 24, by students from the Faculty of Management Science and the various colleges within the College of Medicine (CMUL), specifically Clinical Science, Basic Medical Science, and Pharmacy. It is essential for students to adhere strictly to the dates assigned to their respective faculties to avoid being locked out of the system.
Mid-week assessments on Wednesday, February 25, will cater to a large block of technical and professional faculties. This includes students from the Faculties of Architecture, Computing and Informatics, Engineering, and Environmental Science, as well as Health Professions and Dental Science from CMUL. On Thursday, February 26, the portal will be open for students in Communication and Media Studies, Creative Arts, Social Sciences, and the Faculty of Law. The final day of the assessment window, Friday, February 27, is reserved for students in the Faculties of Arts and Physical and Earth Sciences. By spreading the dates across these groups, the Centre for General Studies aims to minimize technical hitches and provide a seamless experience for every candidate.
To ensure a successful assessment, the University Management advises all students to verify their portal credentials well in advance of their scheduled date. It is highly recommended that students utilize a stable internet connection and compatible web browsers to access the portal. Since the window closes at 11:00 p.m. daily, starting the assessment early in the day is advised to account for any unforeseen technical or connectivity issues. Completion of this Continuous Assessment is a prerequisite for sitting for the final GST examinations at the end of the semester. Any student experiencing login difficulties or course mismatches should contact the CGS helpdesk or the CITS office immediately for resolution before their faculty's allotted time expires.
