UNIVERSITY OF UYO RELEASES SIWES GUIDELINES AND LOGBOOK ENDORSEMENT SCHEDULE FOR STUDENTS

The University of Uyo, through its Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) Directorate, has released important guidelines and schedules for students who have successfully completed their industrial attachment.

The directive affects students who participated in the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 Industrial Attachment Programme and have completed the required period of industrial training.

According to a memo dated October 6, 2026, issued by the Director of SIWES to Heads of participating departments, the industrial attachment programme commenced on April 2, 2026, and ended on September 2, 2026.

Students who have successfully completed the required 24 weeks (six months) of uninterrupted industrial attachment/SIWES are expected to complete the necessary logbook endorsement and report submission processes.

UNIVERSITY OF UYO SIWES LOGBOOK ENDORSEMENT SCHEDULE

The University of Uyo SIWES Directorate has scheduled the endorsement of students' SIWES logbooks and information sheets between October 13 and October 16, 2026.

Students are required to present their logbooks and information sheets at the SIWES Directorate according to the schedule assigned to their respective departments.

The endorsement exercise will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day.

OCTOBER 13, 2026 — 9:00 A.M. TO 3:30 P.M.

Students from the following departments are scheduled for logbook endorsement:

• Marketing
• Physiotherapy
• Pharmacy
• Mathematics
• Statistics
• Civil Engineering
• Soil Science
• Fisheries and Aquaculture
• Environmental Management
• Food Engineering
• Agricultural Education
• Industrial Technology
• Geography and Regional Planning
• Fine and Industrial Arts

OCTOBER 14, 2026 — 9:00 A.M. TO 3:30 P.M.

The following departments are scheduled:

• Computer Engineering
• Chemical Engineering
• Geological Sciences
• Urban and Regional Planning
• Geoinformatics and Survey
• Architecture
• Building
• Estate Management
• Quantity Surveying

OCTOBER 15, 2026 — 9:00 A.M. TO 3:30 P.M.

Students from the following departments are expected:

The final day of the scheduled endorsement exercise covers the following departments:

• Mechanical Engineering
• Agricultural Engineering
• Crop Science
• Animal Science
• Agricultural Economics
• Agricultural Extension
• Computer and Robotics
• Business Education
• Library and Information Science
• Home Economics Education
• Theatre and Film Studies
• Sociology
• Extension
• Any other omitted department

Students whose departments may have been inadvertently omitted from the schedule are expected to make use of the October 16 date, as indicated by the SIWES Directorate.

UNIVERSITY OF UYO SIWES REPORT SUBMISSION

Following the logbook endorsement exercise, students are required to submit their SIWES reports to their respective departments.

The reports will be used for presentation and scoring alongside the endorsed SIWES logbooks.

Students are expected to ensure that their SIWES files contain all the required documents before submission.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR SIWES SUBMISSION

Students are required to submit the following documents inside their SIWES files:

1. SIWES logbook endorsed by the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) and SIWES Directorate
   1. SIWES report
   2. Completed ITF Form 8

The documents should be properly arranged and submitted to the students' respective departments.

UNIVERSITY OF UYO SIWES SUBMISSION DEADLINE

The deadline for the submission of the SIWES reports and other required documents to the respective departments is:

Friday, October 23, 2026.

The submitted documents will subsequently be forwarded to the SIWES Directorate for further processing.

Students are therefore advised not to delay their submissions beyond the stipulated deadline.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR UNIVERSITY OF UYO SIWES STUDENTS

Students affected by the directive should take note of the following important dates:

Students are expected to attend the logbook endorsement exercise on the date assigned to their departments and ensure that their documents are properly endorsed before proceeding with the final submission.

WHAT UNIVERSITY OF UYO SIWES STUDENTS SHOULD DO

Students who have completed the required 24-week industrial attachment should ensure that they:

• Present their SIWES logbooks and information sheets for endorsement.
• Attend the endorsement exercise according to their departmental schedule.
• Ensure their logbooks are properly endorsed by the relevant authorities.
• Prepare their SIWES reports for departmental presentation and scoring.
• Complete the required ITF Form 8.
• Submit their endorsed logbook, SIWES report and completed ITF Form 8 in their SIWES files.
• Submit the complete file to their respective departments on or before October 23, 2026.
