Al-Ansar University Maiduguri (AUM) is proud to announce a landmark achievement in its academic journey. Following the October/November 2025 Comprehensive Accreditation Exercise, the National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted 100% Full Accreditation to all "Newly Matured" programmes presented for evaluation.
This milestone brings the total number of fully accredited programmes at the university to nineteen (19), solidifying AUM’s status as a premier center for Health Sciences and Technology in Northern Nigeria.
I. ACCREDITED PROGRAMMES & VALIDITY
The following four flagship programmes met and exceeded all national benchmarks for curriculum, faculty strength, and infrastructure. They are now fully accredited until 2030:
- Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) – Full Accreditation
- Nursing Science – Full Accreditation
- Medical Laboratory Science – Full Accreditation
- Information Technology – Full Accreditation
II. A TRIUMPH OF VISION AND DEDICATION
The Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Fanna Inna Abdulrahman, attributed this success to the strategic investment in teaching and research. She specifically highlighted the role of the University's leadership:

III. STRENGTHENING NATIONAL HEALTHCARE & TECH
The successful accreditation of the MBBS, Nursing, and Medical Laboratory Science programmes is a significant boost to the healthcare manpower needs of the region. Furthermore, the full accreditation of Information Technology underscores AUM's focus on bridging the digital divide through professional training.
