COOU Opens Applications for 2025/2026 Postgraduate Admissions

The management of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), Anambra State, has officially announced the commencement of applications for admission into its postgraduate programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates seeking admission into various postgraduate programmes offered across faculties and departments of the university.

Available Programmes

The School of Postgraduate Studies offers admission into the following categories of programmes:

  • Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)
  • Master of Science (M.Sc)
  • Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D)

These programmes are designed to equip students with advanced academic knowledge, research competence, and professional skills in their respective fields.

Admission Requirements

Postgraduate Diploma (PGD)

Applicants seeking admission into the PGD programme must possess:

  • The matriculation requirements of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University or any recognized university approved by the Senate.
  • At least a Third Class Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Holders of acceptable professional and non-degree qualifications such as HND, FIRST, HMLT, ACA, AIB, and related certifications may also apply.
  • Candidates with Lower Credit in relevant qualifications must possess a minimum of five years relevant working experience before consideration for admission.

Master of Science (M.Sc)

Candidates applying for the M.Sc programme must possess:

  • Five O’Level credit passes including English Language and Mathematics for candidates who obtained their O’Level results after 2013.
  • A minimum of Second Class Lower Division from a recognized university.
  • A Postgraduate Diploma with at least a Credit Pass (3.0 on a 5-point scale or 60% weighted average).
  • Candidates with Professional Master’s Degrees must also satisfy the stated requirements.

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D)

Applicants for the Ph.D programme must possess:

  • Five O’Level credits including English Language, Mathematics, and at least one Science subject for candidates whose O’Level results were obtained after 2013.
  • A Master’s Degree with a minimum CGPA of 3.5 on a 5-point scale or 60% weighted average.

  1. Visit the university postgraduate application portal
    1. Complete the online application form
    2. Upload all necessary credentials and documents
    3. Pay the prescribed application fee

Closing Date

The sale and submission of application forms will close six weeks from the date of publication of this notice.
