FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY AKURE (FUTA) WARNS PUBLIC AGAINST ADMISSION SCAMMERS

The management of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) has issued a strong warning to prospective students, parents, guardians, and the general public over the activities of fraudsters falsely claiming to offer admission into the University for the 2026/2027 academic session.

According to the University, its attention has been drawn to the activities of unscrupulous individuals who are attempting to defraud unsuspecting candidates by promising admission into FUTA in exchange for money and other financial benefits.

The University emphasized that admission into FUTA is strictly processed through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and follows a transparent procedure that is carefully monitored and protected against both internal and external manipulation.

Admission Cannot Be Bought

FUTA stressed that admission into the institution is strictly merit-based and cannot be influenced by any individual or group.

The University urged candidates and members of the public to disregard anyone claiming to have the ability to secure admission or influence the admission process.

Public Advisory

The University specifically advised:

• Prospective candidates, parents, guardians, and sponsors should be vigilant and avoid falling victim to admission fraudsters.
• No individual or agent has been authorized to collect money for admission processing or influence admission decisions.
• Candidates should not pay anyone to check examination results, upload O'Level results, or facilitate admission in any form.
• All admission-related activities are conducted through the official JAMB admission process and the University's approved channels.

Beware of Fraudsters

FUTA warned that fraudsters are spreading false information and making bogus admission offers to unsuspecting candidates for financial gain.

The University therefore encouraged all applicants to rely only on official announcements and information released through FUTA's recognized communication channels.

The management reiterated that the admission process is transparent, credible, and entirely based on merit.
