The Management of the Federal University of Technology, Ilaro (formerly Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro), through the Office of the Registrar and on behalf of the Acting Vice-Chancellor/Rector, has formally ratified the schedule for its 23rd Convocation Ceremony. This week-long series of events is dedicated to celebrating the academic achievements of the ND and HND graduating sets of the 2024/2025 Academic Session.
The ceremony marks a historic transition for the institution as it embraces its new university status, focusing on academic excellence, institutional growth, and the conferment of honorary fellowships on distinguished Nigerian personalities.
ORDER OF EVENTS: THE CONVOCATION WEEK
The institution has curated a diverse range of activities spanning from spiritual services to athletic competitions and academic exhibitions.

- 10:00 AM: Unveiling of the Convocation Mascot at the Beautiful Gate.
- 12:00 PM: Jumat Service at the Polytechnic Mosque.

- 10:00 AM: Convocation Funfair at the Pavilion Ground.

CONVOCATION LECTURE: PREPARING FOR THE 21ST CENTURY
A pivotal intellectual highlight of the ceremony is the Convocation Lecture, designed to equip graduands with the mental tools required for the modern economy.

CRITICAL NOTICE TO ALL GRADUATING STUDENTS
The University Management has issued strict administrative directives regarding the logistics of the graduation process. All graduands are expected to comply with the following:
- Academic Gowns: Collection begins on April 8, 2026. All payments must be processed via the official Institution Portal.
- Gown Return Policy: All rented academic regalia must be returned no later than April 16, 2026.
- Late Return Penalty: A fine of ₦1,000 per day will be charged for any gown returned after the deadline.
- Attendance Mandate: Attendance at the grand finale is compulsory for all HND graduands. Absence from the ceremony attracts a strict penalty of ₦10,000.
