The Management of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University (IBBU), Lapai, is pleased to announce the successful results of the National Universities Commission (NUC) accreditation exercise conducted in late 2025.
In a formal communication to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mohammed Hadi Sulaiman, the NUC confirmed that ten (10) undergraduate programmes have achieved Full Accreditation, with only one programme receiving interim status. This achievement underscores IBBU's commitment to academic excellence and its vision of becoming a world-class center of science and technology-driven learning.
I. FULLY ACCREDITED PROGRAMMES (VALID UNTIL 2030)
The following ten programmes met the NUC’s National Minimum Academic Standards and have been granted full accreditation:
- Sciences & Technology: Biotechnology, Geology.
- Agriculture: Agriculture, Agricultural Education.
- Education & Humanities: Education Geography, Education Mathematics, Guidance and Counseling, French Language, Islamic Studies.
- Management Sciences: Business Administration.
II. INTERIM ACCREDITATION STATUS
- Programme: History and International Relations.
- Maturity Date: 2027.
- Note: Interim status indicates that the programme meets most requirements but requires minor adjustments in specific areas. The University is already working to address these to ensure full status in the next round of evaluation.
III. VICE-CHANCELLOR’S STATEMENT & ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
Professor Mohammed Hadi Sulaiman expressed his appreciation to the NUC and reaffirmed the university's dedication to high standards.
