JAMB 2025 UTME Results Out: Shocking Stats Reveal Mass Underperformance
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has unveiled the results for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), showcasing a challenging outcome for many candidates. Of the 1,955,069 participants, over 1.5 million scored below 200, according to JAMB’s statistical breakdown released on Monday.
Only 420,415 candidates surpassed the 200-mark, with less than 1% achieving scores above 300, highlighting that 75% of test-takers fell short of the 200 threshold. Additionally, JAMB is investigating 2,157 candidates for suspected exam malpractices.
Among the 40,247 underage candidates allowed to showcase exceptional talent, just 467 (1.16%) met JAMB’s benchmark for remarkable ability, with further evaluations pending. JAMB also reported 71,701 absentees and noted that candidates with biometric issues are under review, with those cleared scheduled for re-examination at designated centers. Results for certain groups, including blind candidates and the JAMB Equal Opportunity Group (JEOG), are still being processed.
