KWARA STATE POLYTECHNIC, ILORIN 2026/2027 ACADEMIC SESSION

Applications are officially invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, for the 2026/2027 Academic Session. The institution offers a wide array of technical, financial, and environmental programmes across various instructional modes.

I. AVAILABLE PROGRAMMES

The Polytechnic provides opportunities for Higher National Diploma (HND), National Diploma (ND), and pre-university studies.

A. Higher National Diploma (HND) - Full-Time & Part-Time
Programmes are hosted within five specialized institutes:

Applied Sciences (IAS): Agricultural Technology, Hospitality Management, Statistics, and Science Laboratory Technology (Options: Biochemistry, Chemistry, Microbiology, Environmental Biology, Physics with Electronics).
Environmental Studies (IES): Architectural Technology, Building Technology, Estate Management, Quantity Surveying, Urban & Regional Planning, and Surveying & Geo-informatics.
Finance & Management (IFMS): Accountancy, Banking & Finance, Business Administration, Marketing, Public Administration, and Procurement & Supply Chain Management.
Information & Communication Technology (IICT): Networking and Cloud Computing, Software and Web Development, Office Technology & Management, and Strategic Communication and Media Studies.
Institute of Technology (IOT): Various engineering specializations including Agricultural, Civil, Electrical/Electronics, Mechanical, Mining, and Metallurgical Engineering.

B. National Diploma (ND) - Part-Time & Online

Part-Time (ND): Includes all major institutes with additional unique courses such as Crime Management, Social Development, Mechatronics, and Railway Engineering Technology.
Online (ODFEL): Available for Accountancy, Business Administration, Computer Science, Mass Communication, and other selected fields.

C. IJMB Programme
Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) courses are available in Science, Social Sciences, and Arts.

II. GENERAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

1. HND Programmes

Academic Qualification: National Diploma (ND) with a minimum of Lower Credit in the relevant field.
O'Level Requirements: Five credit passes (including English and Mathematics) at WASSCE, NECO, or NABTEB in not more than two sittings.
Experience: Evidence of one-year post-ND Industrial Training (IT). Candidates with a Pass Grade require two years of industrial experience.
JAMB Requirement: Full-time HND applicants must provide the JAMB registration number used for their ND programme.

2. ND Part-Time Programmes

Academic Qualification: Minimum of five O’Level Credits in relevant subjects.
Core Subjects: Credit passes in Mathematics and English Language are compulsory for all applicants.

III. APPLICATION METHODOLOGY

Applications must be completed fully online via the official portal: https://portal.kwarastatepolytechnic.edu.ng/app/apply.php.

Fees and Payments

Standard Processing Fee: ₦25,000.00 (exclusive of bank charges).
IJMB Fee: ₦10,000.00.
Payment Method: All payments must be made through ‘College Pay’ using a Debit, Master, or Prepaid Card.

Mandatory Actions for HND Applicants

Uploads: Candidates must upload their ND and O’Level results.
Transcripts: Applicants must ensure their academic transcripts are forwarded to the Registrar, Kwara State Polytechnic, before admission can be processed.

IV. IMPORTANT NOTICES AND DEADLINES

NYSC Notice: All HND Part-Time students will not be mobilized for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
Awaiting Results: Candidates sitting for 2026 O’Level exams or those awaiting results are not eligible to apply.
Names: The name used during entry will remain the same throughout the programme; change of name will not be entertained.
Closing Date: All applications must be submitted by Friday, 31st July, 2026.
