NIGERIA POLICE ACADEMY ANNOUNCES ADMISSION INTO 13TH REGULAR COURSE DEGREE PROGRAMMES FOR 2026/2027 ACADEMIC SESSION
The Nigeria Police Academy (POLAC), Wudil, Kano State, has officially announced the commencement of admission into its 13th Regular Course Degree Programmes for the 2026/2027 academic session.
The admission exercise is open to qualified Nigerian youths who are interested in pursuing a university degree while undergoing professional police training at one of the country's foremost security institutions.
According to the Academy, successful candidates will undergo academic and police training that will prepare them for leadership roles within the Nigeria Police Force upon graduation.
APPLICATION PERIOD
The online application portal will be open from:
Monday, 1st June, 2026
to
Wednesday, 15th July, 2026
Interested candidates are advised to complete their applications within the stipulated period, as late submissions may not be considered.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Candidates seeking admission into the Nigeria Police Academy must satisfy the following requirements:
UTME Requirement
Applicants must have sat for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and obtained a minimum score of 180 marks.
O'Level Requirements
Candidates must possess at least six (6) credit passes in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, in WAEC, NECO, or equivalent examinations obtained in not more than two sittings.
Age Requirement
Applicants must be between 16 and 21 years old as of 31st October, 2026.
Physical Requirements
Male candidates must have a minimum height of 1.67 metres, while female candidates must have a minimum height of 1.64 metres.
Male candidates are also expected to have a chest measurement of not less than 86 centimetres (expanded chest measurement).
Medical Fitness
Applicants must be medically, physically, and psychologically fit and free from any form of physical disability.
Marital Status
Candidates must not be married or pregnant at the time of admission.
Communication Requirements
All applicants must possess a valid email address and active phone number for communication throughout the admission process.
The Academy also noted that only examination results obtained in 2022 and beyond will be accepted for admission consideration.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
Prospective candidates are required to complete their application online through the Nigeria Police Academy admission portal.
Applicants are expected to:
- Visit the official admission portal.
- Generate a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR).
- Pay the application fee.
- Complete the online application form.
- Upload all required documents.
- Print the completed application form, guarantor form, and acknowledgment slip.
The application fee has been fixed at ₦6,000 only, excluding applicable bank charges.
APTITUDE TEST
All eligible applicants will be invited to participate in a Computer-Based Aptitude Test.
The date, venue, and time for the examination will be communicated to candidates through the Academy's official channels.
Candidates are advised to prepare adequately, as performance in the aptitude test will play a significant role in the admission process.
PHYSICAL SCREENING EXERCISE
Candidates who successfully pass the aptitude test will proceed to the physical screening stage.
During the screening exercise, applicants will be required to present original copies of important documents, including:
- Educational certificates
- Birth certificate or declaration of age
- Certificate of origin
- Evidence of physical and medical fitness from a government-recognized hospital
- Proof of good character from community leaders
- Indigene certificate
- Completed guarantor forms
Failure to provide any of the required documents may lead to disqualification.
MEDICAL SCREENING
Candidates who scale through the physical screening stage will undergo an automated medical screening exercise.
The medical examination is designed to verify the health status and fitness of candidates before final selection.
INTERVIEW AND FINAL SELECTION
Successful applicants from the previous stages will be invited for an automated interview and final selection exercise.
Candidates who successfully complete all stages of the screening process will be offered admission into the Academy.
Notifications regarding interviews and admission status will be communicated through email addresses and phone numbers provided during registration.

The Academy announced that admission into the Law programme will not be available for the 2026/2027 academic session.
DURATION OF PROGRAMMES
Successful candidates admitted into the Nigeria Police Academy will undergo a five-year combined academic and professional training programme.
Upon successful completion of the programme, graduates will earn a Bachelor's Degree and will be commissioned into the Nigeria Police Force as Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP II).
