PLATEAU STATE UNIVERSITY (PLASU) GOVERNING COUNCIL CANCELS REGISTRAR RECRUITMENT PROCESS CITING INTEGRITY BREACH
The Governing Council of Plateau State University, Bokkos, at a special Meeting held on Thursday, 13th August, 2026 considered the report of the Joint Council and Senate Selection Board for the appointment of a new Registrar for the University.
Council noted that the board had commenced the process for the appointment of a Substantive Registrar for the university, but the process could not be concluded owing to a hitch that would have impugned the integrity of the process and that of the University.
Council, after exhaustively discussing the report, decided as follows:
1) To cancel the process of appointing a new Registrar, which commenced on the 10th of June, 2026.
2) To readvertise the position and conclude the process of appointing a new Registrar within three (3) months.
3) The extension of the tenure of the incumbent Registrar for an additional three months, from 29th August, 2026 to 28th November, 2026 to allow adequate time for the process of appointing a new Registrar to be completed.
4) Candidates who were shortlisted and invited for interview need not re-apply.
The Council wishes to assure members of the University Community that due process will be followed to ensure that the best candidate emerges as the Registrar of the University.

Yakubu F. Ayuba
Registrar/Secretary to Council.
