UNILAG Distance Learning Institute Warns Against Fake Admission Agents

The Distance Learning Institute, University of Lagos has issued an important notice to members of the university community and the general public, stating that it has no affiliation with external admission agents, consultants, or representatives claiming to act on its behalf in the processing of applications or admissions.

According to the institute, some individuals have been falsely presenting themselves as authorized agents who can assist applicants in securing admission into its programmes. The institute therefore emphasized that such claims are false and misleading, warning prospective students to avoid dealing with these individuals.

The institute clarified that all applications must be submitted exclusively through the official application portal of the University of Lagos. Prospective applicants are required to complete their admission process online through the official portal: https://applications.unilag.edu.ng/home.

It further stated that the approved application fee is ₦20,000, and this payment must only be made through the official portal provided by the university. The institute stressed that applicants should not make payments through any other channels outside the designated platform.

Applicants have been strongly advised not to make payments into any personal or third-party bank accounts, as such transactions are not recognized by the institute. The management reiterated that no external agents or individuals have been authorized to represent the Distance Learning Institute in admission matters.

The institute also warned that anyone who chooses to deal with unauthorized agents does so entirely at their own risk, as the university will not be responsible for any loss or fraudulent activity resulting from such engagements.
