UNIPORT SUG DEBUNKS FALSE ALLEGATIONS LAID AGAINST UNION'S SENATE PRESIDENT
The attention of the Office of the Senate President has been drawn to certain false, misleading, and politically motivated videos currently being circulated alleging that the Senate President brought armed men into the University environment during the ongoing political tensions within the Students' Union Government.
The Office categorically debunks and condemns these allegations in their entirety. At no point did the Senate President sponsor, invite, or associate with any armed group or individuals capable of disrupting the peace and security of the University community.
These claims are completely unfounded, malicious, and clearly aimed at tarnishing the image and integrity of the Legislative Arm of the Union.
As student leaders entrusted with the responsibility of protecting the peace, unity, and democratic values of our Union, it is important that political differences are not allowed to degenerate into campaigns of misinformation, blackmail, and character assassination.
The Senate under the leadership of the Senate President remains committed to peaceful dialogue, constitutional order, and the protection of students' interests.
We therefore urge all students and stakeholders to disregard such fabricated narratives and refrain from spreading unverified information capable of causing panic or unrest within the University community.
Furthermore, this Office respectfully beckons on the Executive President of the Students' Union Government to publicly clarify and debunk these allegations in the interest of truth, peace, and responsible leadership. Silence in moments like this may further fuel tension and misunderstanding among students.
The Students' Union Government must remain a symbol of unity, maturity, and accountability, not a platform for destructive propaganda.
