SLUK Announces 2nd Combined Convocation Ceremony
The management of Sule Lamido University has officially announced the activities scheduled for its 2nd Combined Convocation Ceremony.
The Vice-Chancellor, Muhammad Ibrahim Yakasai, on behalf of the Governing Council, Senate, Management, Congregation, and the entire university community, has invited members of the public to participate in the historic academic celebration.
The convocation programme is scheduled to hold from April 10 to April 11, 2026. The two-day event will feature several important activities including a convocation lecture, investiture ceremony, conferment of first degrees, and presentation of academic prizes to outstanding graduates.
Convocation Lecture
The convocation activities will begin with a Convocation Lecture on Friday, April 10, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. The lecture will take place at Lecture Hall B, Career and Income Development Centre of Sule Lamido University.
The lecture will be delivered by Abdullahi Yusufu Ribadu, the Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission.
The lecture is titled: “Climate Resilient Agriculture and Youth Engagement: Strategies for Transforming the Agricultural Sector in Jigawa State and Beyond.”
The presentation will examine the importance of innovative agricultural practices and youth participation in improving food security and promoting sustainable economic development.
The event will be chaired by Umar Namadi, the Executive Governor of Jigawa State.
Main Convocation Ceremony
The main convocation ceremony will take place on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Convocation Arena of the university’s main campus located along Kano Road, Kafin Hausa.
One of the major highlights of the ceremony will be the Investiture of the 2nd Chancellor of the University, Umar Faruk II.
During the ceremony, the university will also confer first degrees on graduating students and present academic prizes and awards to outstanding graduates in recognition of their academic excellence.
The convocation ceremony marks an important milestone for Sule Lamido University as it celebrates the achievements of its graduates and reinforces the institution’s commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and community development.
