UNIZIK POSTGRADUATE ADMISSIONS 2026/2027
The College of Postgraduate Studies at Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) has officially opened applications for the 2026/2027 academic session. The university offers a diverse range of programmes across Full-Time, Part-Time, and Online modes of study to accommodate the needs of various professionals and scholars.
AVAILABLE PROGRAMMES AND APPLICATION FEES
Prospective students can apply for the following postgraduate tiers. Please note the non-refundable application fees for each level:
- Postgraduate Diploma (PGD): ₦25,000
- Master’s Degree (M.Sc./M.A., etc.): ₦25,000
- Master of Philosophy (MPhil) / PhD: ₦25,000
- Doctor of Philosophy (PhD): ₦50,000
IMPORTANT DATES AND DEADLINES
Candidates must strictly adhere to the following administrative timeline to ensure their applications are processed:
- Commencement of Form Sales: 15th April, 2026
- Application Deadline: 8th September, 2026
- Final Submission (All Modes): 11th September, 2026
SUBMISSION OF TRANSCRIPTS
All applicants are required to facilitate the submission of their official academic transcripts to the Secretary, College of Postgraduate Studies, by 11th September, 2026. Options include:
- Hard Copy: Delivered to the College of Postgraduate Studies.
- Soft Copy: Must be sent directly from the issuing institution’s official email to: secdr_transcript.cpgs@unizik.edu.ng
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR PHD APPLICANTS
In addition to the standard application, PhD candidates must fulfill these specific academic criteria:
- Research Proposal: Submit a typed research proposal (maximum of five pages) through the application portal.
- Proposal Defense: Prepare for a virtual Proposal Defense. The University will communicate specific dates for this exercise in due course.
