FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY, AKURE RELEASES POST-UTME/DE SCREENING DETAILS FOR 2026/2027 ACADEMIC SESSION

The management of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), has officially announced the commencement of online registration for the 2026/2027 Post-UTME and Direct Entry (DE) screening exercise for admission into all undergraduate programmes of the institution.

According to the university, the online registration portal will open on Monday, 1st June 2026 and close on Friday, 3rd July 2026. All suitably qualified candidates who chose FUTA as their preferred institution are advised to complete their registration within the stipulated period.

FUTA, one of Nigeria’s leading technology-driven universities, noted that the screening exercise is compulsory for all candidates seeking admission into the institution for the new academic session.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

To qualify for the FUTA Post-UTME/DE screening exercise, candidates must meet the following requirements:

UTME Candidates

• Applicants must have scored a minimum of 180 in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) conducted by JAMB.
• Candidates must possess at least five (5) relevant O’Level credit passes including English Language and Mathematics at not more than two sittings in WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, or equivalent examinations.
• Candidates must be at least 16 years old by 30th September, 2026.

Direct Entry (DE) Candidates

• DE applicants must have chosen FUTA as their First Choice Institution.
• Candidates must also satisfy the O’Level requirements relevant to their chosen course of study.

The university also announced that admission into the MBBS programme, which was previously suspended, has now been reinstated. Qualified candidates interested in Medicine and Surgery are therefore eligible to apply during this admission cycle.

SCREENING REGISTRATION PROCEDURE

Eligible candidates are required to complete the following steps:

1. Visit the university’s official website at www.futa.edu.ng.
   1. Generate the required Remita payment code.
   2. Pay the non-refundable screening fee of Two Thousand Naira (₦2,000.00) via the Remita platform at any commercial bank.
   3. Return to the university portal to complete and submit the online registration form.
   4. Print out the completed registration slip for reference.

Candidates are strongly advised to ensure that:

• Their UTME Registration Number is entered correctly.
• Their names match exactly with the details on their JAMB slip.
• Their O’Level results are properly uploaded on JAMB CAPS before the deadline.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

The university emphasized that:

• Any candidate who fails to register within the registration window will not be considered for admission.
• Candidates who fail to upload their O’Level results on JAMB CAPS on or before Friday, 3rd July 2026 will automatically become ineligible for admission.
• Participation in the screening exercise is mandatory for all applicants.

FUTA also encouraged prospective students to regularly monitor the institution’s website and official communication channels for updates concerning admission processes and screening schedules.
