The Management of Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), Okitipupa, has issued a formal notice following the directive from the Ondo State Government. In honor of the landmark 50th Anniversary of the creation of Ondo State, a two-day public holiday has been declared across the entire state. Consequently, the university will pause all official operations to allow the university community to participate in the golden jubilee celebrations.

Suspension of Academic and Administrative Activities

In compliance with the state directive, the university will be closed on Monday, 2nd February, and Tuesday, 3rd February, 2026. During this period, all lectures, laboratory sessions, and administrative services are officially suspended. Students are advised to use this brief hiatus for private study and to remain safe while celebrating this significant milestone in the state's history.

Directives for Staff and Essential Services

While the majority of the workforce is expected to observe the holiday, staff members designated as providing essential services are exempt from this closure. This typically includes personnel in:

  • University Security Units
  • Health Services/Medical Center
  • Power and Water Supply Maintenance
  • Animal Farm and Research Lab Caretakers (where applicable)

All other staff members are encouraged to enjoy the break and resume their duties refreshed.

Resumption of Duties

Normal academic and administrative activities will commence on Wednesday, 4th February, 2026. Students and staff are expected to return to their respective duty posts and lecture halls promptly on this date. The university management extends its congratulations to the government and the good people of Ondo State on this historic 50-year journey of growth and development.
