The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has formally initiated a significant infrastructure project involving the "Turn-In and Turn-Out" of the Benin-Ajaokuta 330KV Single Circuit (SC) Transmission Line at the Ihovbor Power Plant Sub-station. This technical maneuver is a critical component of the national grid’s expansion strategy, designed to enhance the stability and load-carrying capacity of the high-voltage network serving the Edo State axis. In a formal notice disseminated through the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC), the utility providers have scheduled a daily power outage from 08:00 to 16:00 hours for a duration of thirty-seven days. Commencing on Friday, 27th February, and concluding on Saturday, 4th April 2026, this maintenance window directly impacts four major 33KV feeders, most notably the UNIBEN 33KV line, alongside the Egba, Ihovbor, and Oluku 33KV circuits.

The "Turn-In and Turn-Out" procedure is a sophisticated engineering task that allows a new or existing substation to be integrated into a passing transmission line, effectively "looping" the power through the Ihovbor facility.
