Breaking: Ogun State Closes School and Suspends Principal After Tragic Student Death.

The Ogun State Government has closed Obada Grammar School in Obada, Idi-Emi, following the death of SS2 student Monday Arijo, allegedly due to corporal punishment.
The teacher implicated in the incident has been arrested and suspended, while the school's principal, Mrs. Tamrat Onaolapo, received a query for allowing such punishment, contrary to state regulations, and has also been suspended.
Governor Dapo Abiodun ordered the school’s closure and initiated an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the tragedy. He promised that those found responsible would face legal consequences.
In a show of support, representatives from the Ministry of Education visited the grieving family to express condolences and gather details for the inquiry. The delegation, which included education officials and union representatives, assured the family of a thorough investigation and emphasized the government's commitment to student safety and justice.
Additionally, the family received a condolence letter and a cash gift of N500,000 to support them during this difficult time.
