The Deanery of Student Affairs at Bayero University, Kano (BUK) has officially announced the commencement of registration for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) for all eligible prospective corps members.
According to an official notice released on Thursday, March 12, 2026, the NYSC registration portal has been opened. Graduating students who are eligible for mobilization have therefore been advised to proceed immediately with their registration through the official NYSC portal.
The notice was signed by the Dean of Student Affairs, Mukhtar Ridwanu Bunza, who encouraged all prospective corps members of Bayero University, Kano to take advantage of the registration window and complete the process as soon as possible.
The statement also addressed concerns raised by some students regarding discrepancies noticed between the graduation dates on the university’s internal pre-mobilization list and the dates appearing on the NYSC portal. The internal list had earlier been displayed at the Students’ Affairs Division of the university.
According to the university management, some students observed that the graduation dates recorded on the internal list were different from those reflected on the NYSC portal during registration. This development raised concerns among some prospective corps members about whether the issue might affect their mobilization.
However, the Dean assured affected students that there is no cause for alarm. Students were advised not to panic and to continue with their registration process on the NYSC portal without delay.
The university management further explained that it has already contacted the National Youth Service Corps authorities regarding the discrepancies. The NYSC officials reportedly assured the institution that the issue will be corrected, even after the registration exercise has been completed.
According to the notice, the discrepancy in graduation dates will not prevent eligible students from being mobilized, as the correction can still be carried out during the processing stages of the mobilization exercise.
Despite this assurance, the Dean emphasized that completing the registration process remains a compulsory requirement for all eligible students. He stressed that no qualified student will be mobilized for the NYSC programme without successfully completing the required registration on the official portal.
For this reason, all prospective corps members of Bayero University, Kano have been strongly advised to ensure that they register within the stipulated period in order to avoid missing the opportunity to participate in the upcoming NYSC mobilization.
The university management reiterated its commitment to resolving the graduation date discrepancies and ensuring that the records of affected students are properly corrected in collaboration with the National Youth Service Corps authorities.
Students are therefore encouraged to remain calm and proceed with their registration while the necessary corrections are being processed.
The notice was officially signed by Mukhtar Ridwanu Bunza, Dean of the Student Affairs Division at Bayero University, Kano.
