BAYERO UNIVERSITY, KANO ISSUES NOTICE TO STUDENTS REGARDING THE DELAYED NELFUND PAYMENTS
Share

Hello everyone! We have an important update regarding the NELFUND upkeep allowances for the months of December and January. We know many of you have been checking your accounts and wondering why the money hasn't arrived yet. The Office of the NELFUND Ambassador at Bayero University Kano (BUK) wants to explain exactly what is happening and when you can expect your payment.

Why is There a Delay?

The reason for the delay is actually quite simple: it’s a calendar mix-up. Think of it like two people wearing different watches. NELFUND (the loan office) has already moved its records forward to the 2025–2026 school year. However, here at BUK, we are still finishing up our 2024–2025 school year. Because the dates don't match perfectly in the computer system, the payments got stuck. It wasn't because there was no money, but because the systems needed to be synchronized!

What is Being Done to Fix It?

Don't worry—the university management is already on top of this. Here is what has been done:

  • Official Letter: BUK management wrote a formal letter to NELFUND to explain our current school calendar.
  • Extension Request: An extra "extension letter" was sent to clarify exactly where we are in our studies.
  • Response from NELFUND: The good news is that NELFUND has received these letters and they have agreed to fix the issue. They are working right now to make sure the money is released.

When Will the Money Arrive?

The wait is almost over! The office has confirmed that all the necessary steps have been taken.

The Big News: Both the December and January allowances are expected to start hitting student bank accounts within the coming week. We know things have been tough, and we truly appreciate how patient you have been while the leaders sorted this out behind the scenes.
