The ceremony is a mandatory academic rite for all freshers, as it concludes the admission process and officially confers the rights and privileges of studentship.

Ceremony Schedule
The event is scheduled to take place at the university's main ceremonial grounds with the following details:

Date: Friday, 30th January 2026

Time: 10:00 a.m. Prompt

Venue: University Auditorium, Adeta Campus, Ilorin

Guidelines for Matriculating Students
To ensure a successful induction, all newly admitted students are required to adhere to the following administrative directives:

  1. Payment of Sundry Fees Students must have completed their registration and paid at least the required percentage of their sundry fees (typically 60% or full payment depending on the faculty) via the e-portal. According to the current fee schedule, a Matriculation Levy of ₦15,000 is included in the fresher's bill.
  2. Collection of Academic Regalia Matriculants are expected to appear in full academic gowns. These are usually collected from the respective Faculty Offices upon presentation of a payment receipt. Students are advised to secure their gowns at least 24 hours before the ceremony to avoid the morning rush.
  3. Oath-Taking and Decorum The highlight of the event is the administration of the Matriculation Oath, where students pledge to abide by the university's rules, respect its officials, and refrain from joining unauthorized societies or engaging in social vices. In line with the university's Islamic identity, all students are expected to dress modestly and maintain a high level of decorum throughout the proceedings.

Parents and guardians are cordially invited to witness this milestone. Guests are encouraged to be seated by 9:30 a.m. to avoid disrupting the academic procession of the Vice-Chancellor and the University Senate, which begins exactly at 10:00 a.m.
