To ensure everyone can dive headfirst into the festivities, the Vice-Chancellor has officially approved a lecture-free period from Thursday, 22nd to Saturday, 24th January 2026.This break is specifically designed to celebrate Students' Union (SU) Week, a time to honor student leadership, creativity, and campus community spirit.
What Does This Mean for You?
No Lectures: All academic activities, including lectures, labs, and tutorials, are temporarily put on hold.Faculty Cooperation: All Provosts, Deans, and Heads of Departments have been directed to "shelve" academic tasks so you don't have to choose between your studies and the celebration. Full Participation: This is your chance to attend the concerts, sports competitions, debates, and award nights planned for the week. Making the Most of SU Week While the week is about fun and relaxation, it’s also a great time to: Network: Meet students from other faculties and departments. Support Your Peers: Cheer on your friends in talent shows or departmental matches. Build Memories: These are the moments that define your university experience outside of the classroom.
Pro-Tip: While classes are off, the library and study common areas usually remain open. If you have a major project due next week, try to balance your "fun time" with a little bit of prep work!
