In an internal memo signed by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Yakubu Yahaya, all returning students are directed to comply with the newly released registration and attendance guidelines to ensure a smooth transition into the current semester.

Key Registration Deadlines
Returning students must strictly observe the following timeline to maintain their studentship and avoid administrative penalties. Normal registration must be completed on or before Friday, 31st January 2026. A late registration window will be open from Monday, 2nd February to Friday, 6th February 2026. Any student who fails to register by the end of the late registration period will be required to defer the academic session in accordance with university regulations.

Mandatory Lecture Attendance
Lectures have officially commenced across all faculties, and the university management emphasizes that attendance is mandatory. Lecturers have been instructed to keep rigorous records of student presence in every class. Students are warned that failing to meet the minimum attendance requirements may lead to academic setbacks or disqualification from writing semester examinations.

Online Registration Procedure for Returning Students
To complete the process, returning students should follow specific administrative steps starting with accessing the university's student portal and logging in with their existing credentials. Students must generate a Remita invoice for their registration fees, which can be paid online via an ATM card or at any commercial bank branch. After payment verification, students should select all registrable courses for the semester and click the register button. Finally, the completed Course Registration Form must be downloaded, printed, and submitted for departmental endorsement.

The Management urges all students to prioritize their registration to avoid the rush associated with the late registration period and to ensure they are fully integrated into the academic session.
